FIRM INITIATIVES

The Collins Brown Barkett attorneys and staff actively participate in the Florida Dept. of Transportation “Adopt-A-Highway” program by maintaining a two-mile stretch of A-1-A to keep it free of debris. We also periodically spend workdays building homes with the Indian River Habitat for Humanity to help hard working neighbors achieve safe, affordable housing for themselves and their families.

Senior Resource Association, Inc. – Member, Board of Directors
Senior Resource Association’s Meals on Wheels, Go-Line, Community Coach, DayAway, Public Guardianship and other programs provide support for adults aged 18 and over who require supervised care
and assistance.

Salvation Army Vero Beach – Advisory Board Member
The Salvation Army provides food, emergency assistance and disaster relief to members of the community.

Advisory Board Member
The Indian River Land Trust promotes the conservation of the Indian River Lagoon by preserving habitat, protecting scenic waterfront and providing access for the public

Hope for Families Center –
Board Member and Secretary
The Hope for Families Center provides housing, meals, and coaching to homeless families on the Treasure Coast with the goal of transitioning each family to independent housing and self-sufficiency.

Miss B’s Learning Bee’s, Inc. – Advisory Board Member
Miss B’s Learning Bee’s provides after school tutoring services for at-risk students.

Alzheimer Parkinson Association of Indian River County –
Chairman, Board of Directors
The Alzheimer Parkinson Association of Indian River County provides daily respite programs for those in Indian River County suffering with memory issues which frees up caregivers during the day; and, movement programs for those with Parkinson’s. Counseling and educational programs are also provided free of charge.

H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue –
Advisory Board Member
H.A.L.O. provides a no-kill animal shelter to save homeless pets and protect them from abuse and neglect.

Equine Welfare Network, Inc. – Advisory Board Member
The Equine Welfare Network connects individuals and organizations in the Florida equine community committed to the welfare of horses with the goal of building a support base of equine advocates and affecting change.

Vice-President
The Kiwanis Club of Vero Beach raises funds through to provide financial assistance and manpower for those organizations that serve children.

Indian River County Habitat for Humanity, Inc –
Member, Board of Directors
Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
